Restaurant
A new city restaurant on Olympou street, with a mosaic floor, an open kitchen and a few tables outside, where chef Minas Nitis, whose past kitchens include Astir Palace and Katikies, cooks homely Greek food in a neo taverna spirit. Thessvoice singles out Florina style soutzoukakia with ajvar, beef slow roasted for nine hours with mashed potato, and armenonville for dessert.

Wine bar
A tiny take away wine window on Proxenou Koromila, close to the seafront, inspired by the historic wine windows of Florence and billed as the first wine window bar in Greece. You read the list, ring the little bell and a glass is handed out through the window. The labels change every month, from Greece and abroad, and the glasses are reusable. It is run by Penny, who lived for years in Italy and later studied wine.
